This week I spoke in the Chamber about my amendment to the Illegal Migration Bill. I agree with the Bill’s clear and important deterrence objective, but exceptional circumstances must also be considered and planned for in relation to future applications for entry clearance and citizenship, especially for those who have entered the UK against the rules at a very young age.
