On Friday I attended the Ground Breaking Ceremony for the Lias Line Greenway. This project was funded by the Department for Transport as part of Sustrans' 'Paths for Everyone' NCN improvement programme with funding contributions from the British Horse Society, Warwickshire County Council, Warwick District Council and Rugby Borough Council.
Phase One of this project should be completed by September 2022 and will replace around 4.0km of on-road provision between Offchurch Greenway and Long Itchington with 5.46km of very good off-road track, improving the safety of the route. I hope it will be enjoyed by many and that it will form part of a wider network.
