Last week the Canal River Trust hosted an exhibit in Parliament. I was happy to attend and speak with them about the importance of the Trust’s work, providing green-blue space and accessible routes within easy reach of millions of people across the country, supporting health and wellbeing, active travel, economic prosperity and natural recovery.
I hope to work with the Trust to integrate their routes into the Warwickshire Cycleways Pathway. The Warwickshire Cycleways Pathway is a project I am working on with multiple stakeholders, including Sustrans, Warwickshire County Council, Warwick District Council, Stratford District Council, Rugby Borough Council, the Department for Transport and HS2 Ltd, who will be converting haulage roads into cycle paths.
