As you will have heard in the Prime Minister's recent announcements, we are expecting hundreds of thousands of daily coronavirus jabs to be made available along with a national booking service. I have discussed this with the local team who are working hard to ensure there are enough vaccines and enough suitable venues across our area. GP practices should be in touch with those who have been prioritised to schedule appointments soon, and I hope if you are called for your vaccination you will take it so we can all get through this crisis quicker. I want to thank all of my constituents for showing tolerance and respect when dealing with NHS workers as they work hard to get the most vulnerable members of our community vaccinated.
I understand that some of my constituents have been contacted by attending a vaccination appointment in Birmingham. It is an option for people eligible for the vaccine, but if they have already received their first dose, or they cannot/do not wish to make the journey to Birmingham then they will be contacted by their hospital hub or local GP led vaccination services to get a more local appointment.
