This year, Remembrance Sunday could not be the same as previous years and this was the first year in a decade I have not stood to remember at Kenilworth’s War Memorial, but remembrance can take many forms and I pay tribute to all of those, including of course the Royal British Legion, who worked so hard to organise meaningful commemorations in compliance with current restrictions. Some will feel these restrictions are harder than ever to take at a time when we remember what sacrifices were made to preserve all our freedoms, but I suspect the wartime generation, and all those who sacrificed, would recognise entirely the need to take collective action to combat a national threat and to protect the vulnerable, however uncomfortable it may be.
