Good meeting with Telent, a locally-headquartered, high skills business, which works at the heart of the UK's critical national infrastructure delivering ICT, communications networks, operational systems and services.
The firm employs hundreds of people locally, and I was delighted to learn more about its work promoting STEM subjects in local schools to encourage students to study and ultimately work in the science, technology and engineering professions.
I was also very interested to learn about charity partnership with The Alzheimer's Society. I am always keen to raise awareness of the stigma and misinformation that surrounds dementia.
