A number of constituents have contacted me regarding the Warwick Road consultation.
The proposal represents a substantial investment that ought, in turn, to realise substantial safety improvements. Whilst I have no objection to the 20mph speed limit, I do have concerns about additional traffic calming measures and the potential they have to divert traffic from Warwick Road to much less suitable residential roads. That risk has to be balanced against any improvement to road safety on Warwick Road, which I suspect is likely to be marginal given that the speed of vehicles on Warwick Road is already quite low.
I have registered my views as part of the consultation process and would encourage others to do the same by 16th April if they have not already done so.
