I am meeting regularly with the NHS and Stratford District Council to ensure that the Primary Care provision for families living at the new development at Upper Lighthorne Heath stays on track. The NHS is working closely with SDC and a procurement process to identify a provider for a new GP practice is moving ahead – it is expected that this will conclude in late October. Thereafter the NHS and SDC will work with the provider to develop the new primary care facility with a view to it opening in 2027. The position of local NHS management is that primary medical care services for new residents can be provided in the interim in existing GP practices in the local area. I have asked for further assurance and evidence on this, given the pressure existing facilities face from other new developments.
