Last month I led a Parliamentary debate on what have become known as Online Harms.
Over the coming months, Parliament will need to make important decisions on the UK’s digital regulatory regime: responding to the disinformation crisis in the wake of the pandemic; exploring how public discourse can be safely enabled online; agreeing on data flows in a post-Brexit era; and, specifically, ensuring the production of the Government’s forthcoming Online Harms Bill and scrutinising its contents.
I have recently, together with Baroness Beeban Kidron, created the All Party Parliamentary Group on Digital Responsibility and Regulation. For details of the group and all its workings please follow this link: https://www.appg.tech
