The Heart of England Community Rail Partnership has been working with local communities to choose a new name for the railway line between Nuneaton and Leamington Spa, which goes through Kenilworth. As many of my constituents will know, this is a key rail line linking North and South Warwickshire with Coventry.
Having received over 200 suggestions for the line, 3 entries have now been shortlisted. They are:
Coventry & Warwickshire Line representing the connections the line makes connecting North and South Warwickshire;
Elephant & Bear Line referring to the symbols of Coventry and Warwickshire;
Pioneer Line celebrating the lives and legacy of local pioneers from Coventry and Warwickshire.
Voting closes on 10 June, and can be accessed here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/M63ZJ3K?dm_i=1GAU,8B4O5,IEI4Y,Y6OCF,1. The new name will be used to inspire future community-led artwork at stations along the route.
