As the cost of living continues to be a concern for households, I welcome that help for Warwickshire residents struggling to pay for utility bills is being made available through Warwickshire County Council’s Local Welfare Scheme, funded for by the Government’s Household Support Fund. This provides short-term financial assistance in the form of a one-off voucher payment, and supplements emergency support available for residents in financial crisis.
Households can apply if they use pre-payment meters, pay by direct debit or are in receipt of an energy or water bill. Applications must be the payment must be made by 24th March 2023, and I would urge those struggling to apply as soon as possible. For more information about the Local Welfare Scheme, please follow the link here: https://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/localwelfarescheme. You can also call the Local Welfare Scheme team on 08004 081 448 or 01926 359 182.
Anyone entitled to benefits eligible free school meals has automatically received this support, and applications are welcome from others in financial difficulty at this time.
