Job Title: Parliamentary Assistant

Job Details
Key responsibilities:
Effective policy correspondence management
Undertake research
Linking debates and parliamentary business to casework and the constituency
Attend surgeries and meetings in Westminster and the constituency (as agreed in advance)
Deal with a large number of queries, including policy and casework matters
Take a lead on defined projects
Organising Parliamentary tours and PMQ tickets for constituents.
Additional duties to support the wider team as required
Leading on work experience programme
Scope to become the IPSA expenses proxy
Requirements:
Good political awareness and judgement
Positive and proactive approach to work, and ability to work independently as well as collectively as part of a team
Excellent oral and written communication skills and confidence interacting with a wide range of stakeholders
Strong research and analytical skills
Good attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload
Reliable and discreet
Some experience of policy or casework, a public facing role or working directly with the general public
Previous work with an MP an advantage
